As peças para funilaria foram compradas na Fuscão Preto e também na Ferreira Auto Peças. Esta última, fica em Mesquita na Avenida Getúlio de Moura, próximo a garagem da Viação Nossa Senhora da Penha. Mais uma visita / One more visit

Hoje, dia 16 de junho, fui ao funileiro fazer mais uma visita e como sempre tirar mais umas fotos. Aproveitem aí.

Today, June 16th, I went to the bodyshop again for one more visit and as usual, I took the opportunity to take some more pictures. Enjoy them.


Nesse antes e depois podemos ver a mesma parte do carro depois de 7 dias de serviço. O remendo pintado em laranja ainda não está soldado no lugar.

In this picture we can see the same part of the car after 7 days of work. The orange part is not welded in place yet.


Comparando com a foto da cabine no post anterior, podemos notar que agora o buraco próximo a porta do carona já está tampado.

Comparing to the cabin photo we can see in the previous post, we can now notice that the hole near the passenger's door is now covered.

Mais fotos / More pictures

Por causa da chuva os trabalhos estão um pouco mais lentos hoje, o que acabou nos dando uma oportunidade de tirar mais fotos.

The guys have been working a little slower today, this is due to the rain that's been falling here in Rio. Because of that, we had an opportunity to take more pictures.

Primeiras fotos / First shots

É com muita alegria que posto hoje as primeiras fotos da reforma da velha senhora! Como todos podem ver, os faróis e setas já foram retirados, assim como as lanternas. A porta direita já foi alinhada e um novo cajado também já foi colocado.
Um segundo funileiro foi chamado especialmente para esse serviço e está trabalhando de forma exclusiva na Kombi. Desse jeito, em breve ela estará pronta para mais 40 anos de serviços.


With great happiness I post here the first pictures of the VW bus in the bodyshop. As you all can see, the headlights and the blinkers are not in place anymore, the same happened to the tail lights. The body shop repair me told us to take them home and keep them here until it's time for him to reinstall them. The passenger door is already aligned and the new window frame for this door is also in place.
There is one guy working exclusively on our bus, so soon this car will be ready for more 40 years of life.

Dia de ir às compras / Going shopping

Hoje o começo do dia foi bastante movimentado, indo de loja em loja comprar todas as peças para lataria que precisariam ser trocadas. O tamanho da lista feita pelo funileiro era um pouco de assustar, mas no fim das contas o preço de tudo ficou bem em conta.
Das lojas pela internet, recebemos mais algumas encomendas hoje também logo pela manhã. Pelo ritmo que anda a coisa, parece que essa reforma ficará pronta antes do que esperávamos.

Today in the morning we spent something like two hours going from one store to another one with a list of body parts and a credit card in our pockets. I really thought the price of the pieces altogether would be pretty high, but in the end it was about half the total we were all expecting. We bought them all, so now the welding process can finally begin.
We also received some parts for the interior of the bus, we bought these ones on the internet.
As it seems, this restoration we will be finished a lot sooner than we expected.
